X-Ray Powder Diffraction
X-Ray Powder Diffraction (XRPD) is the main technique for the characterization of pharmaceutical solids. XRPD is used for formulation control, crystallinity or amorphous content measurements, desolvation or polymorphic transition monitoring, or raw material control.
Holodiag owns a very versatile and high-performance system that covers most of the analytical needs. Our PANalytical X’Pert Pro MPD is equipped with a PIXcel detector, and its different setups allow to provide specific answers for a given problem on a wide range of samples:
- Low concentrations of API
- Wet powder
- Slurry or suspensions
- Tabs or pills
- Very low quantities, etc.
The integrated sample changer procures high-throughput capabilities to the system, whatever the work load. Moreover, XRPD enables temperature control and high scan rate analyses for the observation of fast phase transitions (polymorphism, desolvation, …). Results can be correlated to additional thermal techniques we have available in-house, like DSC or TGA.
Our team can carry out the analyses under controlled atmosphere and conduct the preparation of air-sensitive samples, for example, in a glove box.
We perform analyses with high resolution and high accuracy. Our expertise in solid states allows us to develop specific analytical programs to answer the most particular issues.
